Statement:

I have spent the last 6 years developing my knowledge of sports and exercise science. My academic journey started at the University College Birmingham, where I completed the 2-year AASE (advanced apprenticeship in sporting excellence) boxing course. Building on this, I furthered my education over 4 years at Coventry University where I gained my first-class BSc (Bachelor of Science) Sports and Exercise Science degree and my MSc (Masters) Strength and Conditioning degree. The focus for my Strength and Conditioning master’s degree consisted of research into optimising the force production in a boxing punch. Upon starting at Coventry University, I also became active in the sports and fitness industry. I have been delivering personal training sessions, boxing sessions and fitness classes for the past 4 years to all ages and abilities. Furthering on from this, over the year of completing my master’s degree I took part in work placements working with both competitive elite boxing athletes and elite University sports scholars (covering all major sport disciplines). These placements involved me delivering and programming Strength and Conditioning sessions along with testing and monitoring physical fitness components such as maximal strength and VO2max.

As well as my work as a science-based fitness practitioner, I also strive for sporting success in my own life. I am a competitive amateur boxer with 32 fights in which I have achieved regional level success. This success enabled me sport scholar status at Coventry University during 3 years of my study time. I believe my personal experiences as an athlete working with nutritionists, Strength and Conditioning coaches and boxing coaches has provided me with a deeper understanding of what it means to be an athlete.

I will make scientific evidenced-based training accessible to you if you choose me as your personal trainer, whether it be for elite sport or general health. Get in touch for a consultation so I can help you achieve your goals.
