This is still a primary goal of most gym users. The internet full of information on this subject, yet as a nation we are getting bigger and bigger. Here are five top tips to lose weight
- Lift weights
Lifting weights will burn more calories per hour than any other form of training. A session based around big compound movements such as squat and deadlift will not only burn calories, but the metabolic after effect as your body repairs and recover will send your metabolism through the roof.
2. Perform HIIT
High Intensity Interval Training ensures maximal results in minimal time. HIIT cardio such as sprints are great, but HIIT bootcamps are better. Find a good group exercise bootcamp and send your metabolism into overdrive in a short and engaging session.
3. Nourish Your Body
You can’t run a car on fumes, you need fuel to move and you need to move to burn. A MINIMUM of 1200 calories per day for females and 1800 for males of nutrient dense foods is essential as part of your weight loss strategy. Eat foods that either swim in the sea, run on the ground or grow out of the earth.
For fat loss, you need a calorie deficit which exercise should be a key part of, but you also need to rest. Work + Rest = Success. Your body needs time to recover from HIIT and Weights and aim for quality over quantity with gym sessions.
5. Have Fun
You’ve got to workout to burn, but you’ve also got to have fun. Find exercise that you enjoy and then it won’t be a burden. Something you’ll enjoy will keep you motivated and coming back and easier for you to integrate it into your lifestyle.
